Hahn is an independent 50-person agency, originally founded in 1974 as a public relations shop. Today, we have expanded into an agile team of storytellers promoting and protecting brands using predictive analytics, design thinking, and a whole lot of hustle to take on marketing challenges for our clients.


Our clients do things like make the lights turn on, grow, and serve good food, build roads and work behind the scenes to make all of our lives better. They are often overlooked but we see them – and help millions of customers, ratepayers and consumers appreciate them.


Position Opening: Executive Creative Director

We are searching for an experienced Executive Creative Director to fuse traditional creative with cutting-edge digital opportunities and our recently built data visualization capabilities and turn it into a differentiator for our clients. This is an individual who still thrives on making great creative and has the desire to build out the discipline according to the needs of our diverse national client portfolio.

The right candidate is a person:

  • With substantial agency experience capable of thriving in a highly innovative and data- driven environment.
  • Possessing leading-edge knowledge of processes, technology, data visualization tools, and agile ways of working that help our creative team produce award-winning work on time and on budget.
  • Brings national brand campaign client experience to this new role.
  • Who is a continuous innovator with a confident point-of-view who closely follows trends and proactively engages with account service, strategy and research disciplines to spot opportunities to expand client work and effectiveness.
  • Ready and willing to be at the front of the pitch room inspiring clients with new ideas and exciting concepts with a confident point-of-view.
  • A natural problem-solver who thinks independently and collaborates with a team to rapidly turn opportunities into creative work product.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Inspire all levels of creative efforts at Hahn, both internally and externally.
  • Partner with the account teams and strategists to review, lead, develop and craft unified creative briefs capable of sparking strategically sound and high impact ideas.
  • Provide high-level concept guidance to optimize creative work produced by your team as well as other departments and partners.
  • Promote and facilitate a culture of collaboration and innovation between agency departments (internal) and clients (external) to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Design creative processes to optimize the time, effort and money required to develop every creative work product.
  • Ensure creative objectives and approaches align with both agency and client goals
  • Lead creative for new business as well as pitch new business including existing clients by them to embrace better work than requested.
  • Determine short-term and long-term staffing plans to drive the business today and future capabilities.
  • Optimize the talent and ensure your team’s time is fully utilized per agency expectations.


The ideal Executive Creative Director will bring significant experience in preparing and performing this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate a mastery of many fields, including team capability development, facilitation, brainstorming, design, creative strategy, operational execution, strategic planning, and financial management.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in integrated communications including digital, mobile, immersive creative experiences, advertising, public relations, or other creative technologies in an agency environment.
  • Extensive team building / leadership experience.
  • Strong ability to grow client relationships and trust.
  • A strong point-of-view founded on expert design/direction, writing skills and experience.
  • Outstanding presentation/pitching new business experience.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced understanding of marketing and martech applications as it relates to integrated communications campaign planning and the role of new technologies in engaging online audiences, emphasizing highly digital creative environments. We need someone who is a master storyteller through the application of data intelligence, design, and delivery.
